Army Pvt. Timothy W. Foster has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history and tradition, physical fitness, military weapons, marksmanship, map reading, field tactics, first aid and foot marches.

He is the son of Diana Whaley and is a 2010 graduate of Lake Providence Senior High School.

Army Warrant Officer 1 Claudia S. Snowden has graduated from the Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Ala. The course is designed to certify warrant officers as technically and tactically competent to serve in designated career specialties.

The course also prepares newly appointed officers for all assignments as warrant officers and chief warrant officers in the active Army, National Guard or Reserve.

Snowden is the daughter of Marilyn A. Guice of Newellton and Albert C. Stover Jr. of Baton Rouge. She received an associate degree in 2004 from Touro University in Cypress, Calif.

Air Force Reserve Airman Kevin D. McCaskill has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The eight-week program included training in military discipline, core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles.

He also earned four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Tanya Gray of Newellton.
