John H. Bodie Sr.

CARY — John H. Bodie Sr. died Monday, May, 28, 2012, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 78.

Mr. Bodie was born and lived in Cary his whole life. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He owned and operated Bodies Trucking Company and was an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Adams Bodie.

Survivors include his son, John H. Bodie Jr. of Inverness; two daughters, Shona Craig of Greenwood and Donna Hannah of Borger, Texas; one brother, Jerry Bodie of Rolling Fork; two sisters, Vivian Brown of Vicksburg and Nettie Sanders of Idaho; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cary Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Pate and the Rev. Johnny Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork with Glenwood Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Hannah, Bo Craig, Wayne Hannah, Josh Bodie, Ty Craig and Bob Craig.
