Gigi is a 5 month-old domestic short-hair kitten who loves people, other cats and even dogs. She is strawberry blonde in color, and she’s described as “one of the sweetest kittens in the world.”
Today, Gigi is living with a foster family while she waits to be adopted, one of many cats in the Vicksburg area waiting for a home during the month of June, which is nationally recognized as Adopt-a-Cat month by the American Humane Association.
“Adopting an animal is such a rewarding experience. If you can commit, they’ll pay you back 100 times,” said Leigh Conerly, president of Paws Rescue in Vicksburg. “If we can find homes for these cats we can take in more.”
Conerly said Paws Rescue currently has 17 cats, and adoption is a simple process. The fee to adopt is $25, and the cat will already be spayed or neutered and up-to-date on shots and flea protection.
