Standing in the loft above Lorelei Books Saturday, Laura Weeks, the owner of Lorelei Books on Washington Street, introduces two award-winning Mississippi authors for a discussion on the desensitizing effects of war on the civilian population. The authors, both of Jackson, are Howard Bahr, far right, the winner of the Governer’s Award for Excellence in the Literary Arts for “Pelican Road,” and Steve Yates, winner of the Juniper Prize for Fiction for “Some Kinds of Love,” led the discussion.
