Two wrecks on Interstate 20 backed up traffic for hours Thursday night. Around 6:30 p.m., a tractor-trailer rig overturned during a collision with a passenger car on I-20 East near the Mississippi Department of Transportation weigh station about 6 miles east of Vicksburg. The driver of the car, whose name was not released by Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, was taken to River Region Medical Center, officials at the scene said. Traffic was backed up to Indiana Avenue and remained at a standstill for about two hours. A second truck was reported wrecked about 10:30 p.m. on I-20 East near the Warren County side of the Big Black River. Calls to MPH for details on the wreck were not returned this morning. While Warren County agencies were responding to the first wreck on I-20, Claiborne County was investigating a vehicle arson that was initially reported as a wreck with shots fired. A 2008 or 2009 Porsche was discovered ablaze on Fisher Ferry Road on the Claiborne County side of the Big Black River, Sheriff Marvin Lucas said. “It looks like someone just brought it down there and set it on fire,” Lucas said. “It’s burned so bad, we can’t get a VIN off of it.”
