A man who hitched a ride with a couple Monday afternoon robbed one of them before getting out of the car at Bay and Court streets, Lt. Sandra Williams said.

She said the robbery occurred about 3:15 p.m. The woman driving the car said they picked the man up on Clay Street. When they arrived at Court and Bay, she said, the hitchhiker pulled a gun and robbed the man before getting out and walking off.
