Rubye L. Blackmon

Rubye L. Blackmon died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 82.
Mrs. Blackmon was a native of Calhoun County and had lived in Vicksburg since 1959. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Blackmon; brothers, Glenn Brassfield and Evans Brassfield Jr.; and her granddaughter, Angela Bolls.
Survivors include her two sons, Bobby Blackmon of Petal and Bill Blackmon of Columbus; two daughters, Anne Bolls of Vicksburg and Carla Weeks of Richland; three brothers, Carl Brassfield of Granite City, Ill., Leon Brassfield of Ripley, Tenn., and Robert Brassfield of Duck Hill; four sisters, Nettie Bumgart and Thelma Bumgart, both of Derma, Beth Dove of Arcadia, La., and Becky Edwards of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Sibley and Macon Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Howard Thomas, Lee Miller, Danny McPhearson, Abraham Green, Richard Blush and Marty Collins.
