Four Warren County residents face charges in West Monroe after they were arrested late Tuesday after police said they tried to buy materials to make suspected methamphetamine.
Jennifer McMillan, 30, 25 Mallet Road, Clifford Geter, 42, 301 N. Fairview Drive, Sherman Brewer, 31, and Rebecca Brewer, 24, both of 1208 Mallet Road, were booked into Ouachita Correctional Center, each on charges of operation and creation of a clandestine laboratory and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, according to published reports. Rebecca Brewer also was booked on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. All were in jail this morning, according to the center’s booking division.
West Monroe Street Crimes Unit officers saw the four enter a pharmacy, buy an item, then handit off to Sherman Brewer, police said. Police determined they had bought three boxes of pseudoephedrine.
Sherman Brewer told police he paid two local residents $100 to meet them at the pharmacy and purchase the precursor chemical.
Police found a receipt showing the group had purchased iodized salt in Vicksburg earlier in the day.
Bonds were set at $30,000 for McMillan, Geter and Sherman Brewer. Bond for Rebecca Brewer was set at $35,000.
In September 2009, Geter was sentenced in Warren County to consecutive five- and three-year prison terms followed by three years probation for possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property.
In July 2010, a case of manufacture of a controlled substance against Sherman Brewer was not prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Office after the circuit court denied a motion for a continuance.
