Archers from around the state were right on target in Vicksburg Saturday.

The Vicksburg Bowhunters Association hosted the Archery Shooters Association state championship competition and 87 shooters competed in the event.

The shooters loosed arrows at 30 three-dimensional targets over a course in the woods, with archers divided into divisions. All archers had to earn a spot in a qualifying tournament at several sites throughout the state.
