EDWARDS — Services for Collars T. Moore will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ratliff Chapel Church, 3656 Mississippi 22 in Edwards, with Bishop Michael Nesby officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with family present from 6 until 7. The body will lie in repose from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Mr. Moore died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his home in Edwards. He was 31.
He was born Jan. 25, 1981, in Vicksburg. He attended Edwards Elementary and graduated in 2000 from Hinds County Agricultural High School, where he was voted Mr. Hinds AHS. He attended Hinds Community College and Jackson State University and served as transportation staff assistant for more than 10 years in Facilities and Construction Management at JSU. He was a member of Ratliff Chapel Church, where he was in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Elver L. Moore of Edwards; his father, Oscar Laws of Utica; a grandmother, Edna Harris of Clinton; five brothers, Kaldrian Moore Sr., Trollars Moore and Patrick Mack, all of Edwards, Oscar Jones of Jackson and Marwin Laws of Utica; two sisters, Marita Smith and Kimberly Ferguson, both of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Gloria Miller, Dr. Vivian Fuller, Hope Walton and members of the Howard family.
Pallbearers will be Jackson State University’s Facilities Management drivers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sedrick Allen, Devonja Gordon, Tyrone Mallett, Lonzo McClure, Joshua McDonald, Willie James Taylor and Kenosha Walton.
