James E. “Slim” Thomas died Thursday, July 12, 2012. He was 61.

Mr. Thomas was born March 29, 1951, in Vicksburg. He was employed by General Motors for 34½ years in Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Wright; and his mother, Virginia Bradley.

Survivors include a daughter, Alaishia Thomas of Lansing, Mich.; a son, James E. Thomas II of Lansing; four sisters, Rosella Parker and Ella Lee Smith, both of Vicksburg, and Hattie Harris and Camellia Mills, both of Katy, Texas; one brother, Cornelius Bradley of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including members of the Thomas, Bradley, Singleton, Horton and Roby families.

A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
