A man suspected of breaking into a fast food restaurant was held without bail today while his accomplice was on the lam, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

At 2:09 a.m. Sunday, Jerrell Oliver, 19, 1204 Fayette St., was arrested in the 3100 block of Halls Ferry Road by patrolman Michael Battle and charged with business burglary, Stewart said.

Oliver and an unidentified accomplice were seen on tape breaking in and taking a cash box containing $1,000 from Sonic, 3101 Halls Ferry Road, Stewart said.

The second robber escaped with a portion of the cash, but $686.32 was recovered from Oliver, Stewart said.

“We are still searching for the second suspect,” Stewart said.

Oliver was held without bail this morning awaiting his initial court appearance.
