PASCAGOULA — James Robert “Sammy” Johnson was born Aug. 31, 1946, and died July 21, 2012, in Pascagoula.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Euda McGee Johnson and J.B. Johnson; a sister, Reba Sue Johnson Frisbee; a brother, B.D. “Johnny” Johnson; and a son, Jason Wayne Johnson.

He is survived by children, Mark Johnson of Bend, Ore., and Jana Nettles (Brent) of Vancleave, Miss.; three grandchildren, Hallie and Kally Nettles and Benjamin Johnson; one sister, Irene Howard; four nephews; and four nieces.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Valley Park Baptist Church.
