Wrong on Dr. Winters

Published 6:29 pm Saturday, July 28, 2012

Regarding the letter submitted by Dr. Gary L. Cheslek, whom I respect. I am very saddened by his remarks.

I respect anyone’s personal feelings, but not the way he expressed them. I realize he was not speaking about the two candidates, but I would like to speak about my acquaintance with Dr. Michael Winters. He is an intelligent, educated, level-headed, well-informed Christian man. Dr. Winters is an elder and assistant pastor of Triumph Church, which I am a member, and I respect Dr. Winters and enjoy the warm respect and smiles he shares with all those who attend Triumph Church.

With no discourtesy to the school board, these should be the people who are entrusted with our children’s educational activities.

In the Bible, 1 Timothy 2: 1-2, it reads, 1. “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks be made for all men — or kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
