Cecelia Mellgren Grayson

Cecelia Mellgren Grayson died Monday, July 30, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Mellgren and Juanita Armstrong Mellgren. Mrs. Grayson was a 1948 graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy. She was formerly associated with Rose Oil Company and was later employed by Bechtel and Entergy.
Mrs. Grayson was a communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church and had served as a Eucharistic minister.
She is survived by three sons, James Robert Grayson (Sandy) of Fairview, Texas, Joseph Alan Grayson (Debra) and Richard L. Grayson, both of Vicksburg; one brother, John J. Mellgren (Kathy) of Huntsville, Ala.; two grandchildren, Chris Grayson and Matt Grayson; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Grayson and Ezra Grayson; and her beloved nephew, John Mark Mellgren (Cathy) of San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Grayson; sister, Elizabeth Pyka; and half-sister, Dorothy Rose Alford.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 St. Michael Place, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
Pallbearers will be Chris Grayson, Matt Grayson, John Mark Mellgren, Ron Jacobson, Bill Mellgren, Bob McKitrick and Mark Mellgren.
