Kathleen Lanier Ragan

Kathleen Lanier Ragan went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 30, 2012. She was 88.

Born in Beulaville, N.C., she made her home in Portsmouth, Va., for 59 years where she was employed as a sales clerk for the Sears Co. She had made her home in Vicksburg since 2008 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Her greatest joy was her love for her Lord and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Melvin Thomas Ragan Sr.; a sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Barnes and husband Albert of Vicksburg and Sandra Ragan Perry and husband Rob of Travelers Rest, S.C.; her son, M.T. Ragan Jr. and wife Jackie of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the A.B. Chappell Cemetery in Petal with the Rev. Matt Buckles officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Rob D. Perry, Rick R. Perry and M.T. Ragan Jr.
