Learn to Swim a rousing success

As the 2012 Summer Learn to Swim program at City Pool concludes, I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in making this summer such a tremendous success.
More than 450 children, teens and adults were enrolled in our 2012 Levels classes.
Thanks to the generosity of the City of Vicksburg, we are able to offer our classes at an affordable rate, and each class is taught by a trained and certified water safety instructor. Well-trained assistants aid in instruction to ensure each student is given the opportunity to meet the requirements of each level.
The City Pool staff shined brilliantly, just like the stars that they are!
A heart-felt thank you goes to Susan and Bob Athow, Sue Boyd, Louise Wigley, and Ellen Noble. Collectively, you bring more than 100 years of water safety experience to our program. You each epitomize the true meaning of the word “volunteer.” City Pool is lucky to have your knowledge, wisdom and friendship.
We appreciate the parents of our young swimmers who recognize the need to have their children learn water safety skills. And of course we thank the students for making each day a new adventure and bringing laughter into our days.
City Pool is already preparing for Learn to Swim 2013. As always, we will begin registration on the Wednesday after Mother’s Day.
