Three Vicksburg doctors have been elected to councils of the Mississippi State Medical Association.

The councils assist the association with budget, bylaws and legislative issues, and medical education and service matters.

Fifteen doctors statewide and two medical students were chosen.

From Vicksburg, Carlos Latorre will serve on the association’s Council on Medical Education, Geri Lee Weiland was elected to the Council on Medical Service, and Joe Austin will serve on the Council on Public Information.
