VSO soccer registration open

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall season will continue until Aug. 19. The league is for players ages 3-18, and registration fees range from $50 to $70 depending on the player’s age. Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association report

On Wednesday, the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association had an individual stroke play match. Joyce Johnson took first place, followed by Linda McHan in second and Mary May in third. Johnson made a chip-in and the lowest number of putts.

M-Braves to host golf tournament

The Mississippi Braves Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 29 at The Refuge Golf Club in Flowood. The four-man scramble begins with a shotgun start at noon. Each team will include an M-Braves player, coach, staff member or local celebrity. Participants in the tournament will receive a gift bag, dinner at the Farm Bureau Grill at Trustmark Park, beverages and snacks. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, as well as for longest drive and closest to the pin. Hole sponsorships are also available. Vicksburg Eagles football registration

The Vicksburg Eagles youth football team is now registering players and cheerleaders ages 6 through 12 on Mondays and Thursdays at the Vicksburg Junior High stadium at 5 p.m. A copy of each player’s birth certificate is required at registration. YMCA football registration open

Registration for the Vicksburg YMCA’s youth football and cheerleading program will continue until Saturday. The league is open to children in grades 3-6, and is split into two age divisions. Flag football registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Warren Flag Football League will continue until Aug. 31. The league is open to men and women ages 18 and up. There is a mandatory coaches meeting Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. the Parks and Rec office. Preseason games will be played Sept. 2, and the regular season starts Sept. 9. Mississippi State softball clinics

Four-time All-American and current Mississippi State volunteer assistant coach Kelsi Dunne will conduct a series of softball pitching clinics on the Starkville campus. The clinics will be held this Saturday, Sept. 9, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4. Saturday’s clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the others will go from 1 to 5:30 p.m. All four clinics will be split into two sessions, one for elementary and middle school players and the other for high school players.
