Vicksburg Warren School District will host five training sessions for parents to provide a better understanding of the new Common Core standards that will be fully implemented by the 2014-15 school year.

Common Core, a statewide curricula guide, includes more rigorous academic testing focused heavily on analysis and critical thinking.

The training sessions’ aim is to ensure parents and students are adequately prepared for the new standards.
