HERMANVILLE — John Henry Boyd died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at his home in Hermanville. He was 70.

Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and John Boyd; three brothers, Richard Boyd, Robert Watts and James Boyd; two sisters, Jimmie Evil and Louise Boyd-Williams; and one son, Gregory Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Katie Evans-Boyd of Hermanville; four sons, Derrick Evans, Jeremiah Evans and Antonio Evans, all of Hermanville, and John Boyd Jr. of Louisiana; four daughters, Michelle Evans and Latoya Evans, both of Hermanville, and Wanda Boyd and Nikki Evans, both of Louisiana; one sister, Jamie Davis of Louisiana; a stepson, James Evans of Hermanville; a stepdaughter, Dereniece Boyd of Hermanville; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Melvin Wilson and Octavius Wilson, both of Hermanville.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Shady Grove M.B. Church in Copiah County. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Friday at House of Peoples Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.
