PORT GIBSON — Georgia Irene Bryant died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 70.
She was a lifelong resident of Port Gibson, where she and her husband owned and operated Bryant’s Bait Shop and Morgan’s Pecans and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Juanita Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Edward Raymond Bryant Sr. of Port Gibson; three sons, Edward Raymond Bryant Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Byram, Kevin Thomas Bryant of Port Gibson and Jerry Glenn Bryant and his wife, Patricia, of Vicksburg; one sister, Kathy Cupit and her husband, Pete, of Hazlehurst; one brother, William Gus Smith of Port Gibson; and five grandchildren, Trey Bryant, Zachory Bryant, Karime Bryant, Thomas Bryant and Cody Bryant.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Gage Hynum officiating. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Chambliss, Tommy Ray Bryant, William Smith, Jesse Cloy Jr., Nick Cloy, Robbie Bryant and Travis Michael Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. David Headley, V. Shenoy, A. Chiemprabha, James Hall and Michael Davis.
