Annual inspections of the U.S. 80 bridge across the Mississippi River will stay with the same firm, Vicksburg Bridge Commission members voted Wednesday.
The commission voted unanimously to keep Baton Rouge-based G.E.C. as the firm in charge of a report that details bridge stability from year to year and recommended repairs, if any. The annual service fee for the work remains at $15,000, the five-member panel said.
Reports are usually completed in January for the previous year’s report. The 2011 report concluded the 82-year-old railroad bridge was in fair condition.
