Stringer looked every part of a playoff team Friday night and St. Aloysius could do little to stop the Red Devils’ potent rushing attack.

The Red Devils, sitting in second place in the Region 4-1A standings and fourth in this week’s Mississippi Associated Press Class 1A poll, jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 42-7 win.

Quarterback Tavon Moore scored three first-half touchdowns to pace Stringer (7-1, 6-0) and Lorenzo Cosby added a 41-yard TD on a fullback dive for Stringer.

“They’re pretty good,” St. Aloysius coach B.J. Smithhart said. “We didn’t tackle well and they’ve got two really good backs. We’ve just got to show up every day and get better.”

Casey Landers had the lone score for St. Al (2-6, 2-4), which was eliminated from playoff consideration with the loss.
