BOGUE CHITTO — Class 1A’s top-ranked team found themselves in a game after one half. Bogue Chitto turned on the jets with three third-quarter touchdown runs, all of more than 50 yards, to beat St. Aloysius 42-14 Friday night at Troy Smith Field.

Bogue Chitto remains unbeaten at 10-0 going into its final Region 4-1A game next week at Dexter. The Bobcats clinched the region title and will host Nanih Waiya in the Class 1A playoffs in two weeks. St. Al fell to 2-8 overall and 2-6 in region play but did show some flash on offense.

The Flashes had 205 yards against a defense that until last week had allowed just six points per game. St. Al coach B.J. Smithhart took notice of his team’s improved play.
