Edgar Shields Rush

Edgar Shields Rush died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Hazlehurst. He was 90.
Mr. Rush served in the Air Force in World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. A longtime resident of Vicksburg, he had worked as a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mickey J. Rush; his parents, Benjamin and Cassie Shields Rush; and a brother, Ben Rush Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Lee and wife, Pat, and Paul Rush and wife, Wendi; two daughters, Barbara Shannon and husband, Michael, of Hazlehurst and Sheila Rush of Byram; nine grandchildren, Joe Lee, Christy Taylor, David Lee, Karen Eads, Bonnie Anderson, Rush Flowers, Andy Shannon, Josh Rush and Shelly Prescott; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson. Burial will follow under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
