Nancy Bagby Smith

Nancy Bagby Smith died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. She was 58.
Born in Vicksburg, she was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School in the class of 1972. Mrs. Smith was a legal secretary with the Martin and Sherard Law Firm and, later, with the James R. Sherard Law Firm for a total of 33 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Smith of Vicksburg; three daughters, Victoria “Torri” Shelton (Tim), Morgan Stafford Smith and Lauren Elizabeth Smith, all of Vicksburg; one granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Shelton; two grandsons, Johnathan Charles “Jack” Shelton and Timothy Nicholas Shelton; her father, Claude W. Bagby Sr. of Vicksburg; one sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Bagby of Vicksburg; and two brothers, Claude W. Bagby Jr. (Sue) of Vicksburg and Gregory A. Bagby (Scat) of Bay City, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Marshall Bagby; and a niece, Laina Elizabeth Bagby.
A funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be tonight at Riles Funeral Home from 5 until 7 with a wake service at 6:30.
Pallbearers will be William “Wes” Hearon, Chris Foster, Ricky Israel, Blake Smith, Brad Smith, Michael Perrier, Elliott Perrier and Connor Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be James R. “Randy” Sherard, Gil Martin, Doris Glass, Bill Fulcher, Danny Fordice, David Wall, Gail Albert Caples and members of the St. Aloysius High School Class of 1972.
Memorials may be made to the MS Special Olympics and to the Epilepsy Foundation of MS.
