Billy Wayne Franklin

Services for Billy Wayne Franklin will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Jonesville, La., with the Rev. Milton Ceasar officiating. Burial will follow in the New Mt. Olive Cemetery in Jonesville. Visitation will be Monday in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m.

Mr. Franklin died Thursday at his home. He was 63.

Mr. Franklin was a civil engineer for the Waterways Experiment Station. He was a deacon and member of the New Mt. Olive M.B. Church of Jonesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Taft and Lucinda Lee Franklin; his brother, Peter West; and a sister, Willie B. Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Nazarita J. Franklin, of Vicksburg; his sons, James Wayne Franklin of Lakewood, Calif., and Anthony Jason Franklin of Vicksburg; his daughters, Lucinda Franklin-Jackson of Vicksburg and Bridgete Franklin of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Spencer Franklin of Palmdale, Calif., Willie Franklin of Perris, Calif., and Thomas Franklin of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Bessie West-McClendon of Jonesville, Pearlie B. Moses of Long Beach, Calif., and Ozel Dean of Monroe, La.; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
