The Conference USA baseball tournament is leaving Mississippi for Houston.

The league announced this week that the tournament, which had been played at Trustmark Park in Pearl the past two seasons, will instead be held at Rice’s Reckling Park in Houston in May 2013.

The Houston Chronicle reported that the owners of Trustmark Park had opted out of the final year of a three-year contract to host the tournament.

The five-day, eight-team event had been held at campus sites before moving to Pearl in 2011. Rice last hosted it in 2006, and beat out bids from Southern Miss, Tulane and East Carolina this time.
