A memorial service for J.C. Hardy will be at 3 p.m. today at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Hardy died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawyer Hardy; his mother and stepfather, Zenader and Herman Hayes; three brothers, C.J. Hunter, Albert Limson and Leroy Hayes; and two sisters, Annie Mae Hayes and Lula Mae Hardy-Branton.

He is survived by a son, Darrell Fabian Hardy of Topeka, Kan.; a brother, Joseph Hayes of Cleveland, Ohio; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Martin, Chambers and Cleveland families of Vicksburg.
