LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Herman Barnes Sr., a former Vicksburg resident, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his home. He was 88.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Barnes of Vicksburg; a son, Herman Barnes Jr. of Vicksburg; three daughters, Wilena Willis and Jeanetta Barnes, both of Louisville, and Valerie Bride of Rowlett, Texas; a sister, Rosalee Barnes of Chicago; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Southern Star Baptist Church in Louisville. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with G.C. Williams Funeral Home in charge.
