“We came together as a team and played team ball, not me ball,” Thomas said. “We’ve played some teams this year with a lot of height, so today, we used our height to our advantage.”

The bottom dropped out for St. Joe in the second half.

St. Al put the clamps on the Lady Irish in the third quarter, outscoring them 21-7 and holding them scoreless for the first five minutes of the quarter.

On offense, the Lady Flashes used some deft ball movement to get the ball inside and gradually wore down the Lady Irish with their size and tenacity on the boards.

The lead got as big as 34 at one point in the third quarter.

Tiara Sykes led Greenville-St. Joe with 25 points.

Claire Gamble had a balanced performance with nine points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals.
