George A. Wells Jr. died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at his home. He was 87.
Mr. Wells was born in Tallulah, La., and was a lifelong resident of Delta, La. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after more than 40 years. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. Wells Sr. and Sallie Wells, and a brother, Fred H. Wells Sr.
Survivors include three nephews; a niece; and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with Brian Ivy officiating and under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Wells’ great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
