NWS: Slushy mix could stay around in Vicksburg through Wednesday

Rain chances are 50 percent most of today in Vicksburg, with the precipitation expected to turn to freezing rain before midnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Lows will be 31 degrees tonight with gusts up to 35 mph. Ice accumulation is expected to be about a tenth of an inch.

Tuesday’s high will struggle to break the freezing mark, getting only to 35 degrees with wind gusts forecast at 35 mph. The chance for precipitation is 80 percent with a chance for ice to be about a tenth of an inch.

The bad weather continues Wednesday with chances for rain, snow and freezing rain before noon, then a slight chance of rain. Highs will reach about 40 degrees with wind gusts up to 20 mph.

Temperature are forecast to rebound to the mid-60s by Saturday.
