Ronald Wells

Ronald “Malibu” Wells died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at his home. He was 63.

Mr. Wells was born Nov. 20, 1950, in Vicksburg to the late Roy Wells Sr. and Lucille Smith Wells.

He was a member of Mount Zion #1 M.B. Church, and a 1968 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School. He attended Utica Junior College and Alcorn A&M College, where he studied architecture, concentrating on carpentry. He retired from Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Wells of Vicksburg; two sons, Ronald T. Wells and Raffel D. Wells, both of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Agnes M. Shorter of Bedford, Texas; siblings, Catherine Webb-Parker of Vallejo, Calif., Roy Wells, Jr. of Everett, Wash., Shirley Wells-Hill of Memphis, and Rosalyn Gates of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including Janice Allen.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 6 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.
