Edith Marie Welch died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 90.

Born in Askew, she was the daughter of the late Tate Williams and Edna Brown Williams. Mrs. Welch was a former resident of Jonesboro, Ark., and had been a resident of Sharkey County for the past three years.  She was a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wallace Welch, and a daughter, Patricia Ann Welch.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Welch of Rolling Fork and William Bernard Welch of Yazoo City; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lee Fisk of Memphis, Tenn., and Margaret Katzenmeyer of Vicksburg; and a brother: James Williams of Cord, Ark.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at Riles Funeral Home. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
