Bail was set at $10,000 each for three Port Gibson men held in a Vicksburg rape case.

Tremayne Anderson, 19, who lives on Griff Circle in Port Gibson, Michael Duncan 18, who lives on Whitney Drive, and Shaquille Williams, 19, who lists the same address as Anderson, appeared Thursday in Vicksburg Municipal Court where the bail was set.

Anderson and Duncan are accused of raping a woman Sunday in her home in the 2200 block of Drummond Street after she met one of the men at a nightclub, ate with him in a restaurant and invited him to her home, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.

The man, however, brought two friends with him when he arrived at the home, Williams said

Shaquille Williams, who is not related to Lt. Williams, is accused of forcing his way back to remove property once the men had left, Lt. Williams has said.

All three men were held this morning in the Warren County Jail.

 

Teens charged in burglary spree

Two teens accused of a burglary spree in Vicksburg and Warren County were in juvenile detention today.

The two 16-year-olds were arrested Wednesday night by Warren County investigator Todd Dykes and taken to the Warren County Youth Detention Center, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

The teens are accused of breaking into eight vehicles in the county and city on Wednesday.

“Some of these burglaries had not even been reported when detective Dykes contacted the victims to help identify the property,” Pace said.

All the burglaries involved automobiles or ATVs, Pace said. Two of the burglaries happened in the 400 block of Garden Grove Street, and two occurred in the 400 block of Evans Street. Another happened in the 500 block of Oak Woods, Pace said.

Three of the break-ins occured in the city on Lakewood Hills, Lakewood Road and Chapel Hill Road, he said.

“None of these vehicles had any signs of forced entry,” he said.

They are also accused of attempting to break into a grocery store at Lee Road and Indiana Avenue, Pace said.

“Entry was not gained but there was damage to a window,” he said.

Items stolen in the burglaries included a .45-caliber gun, designer sunglasses, flashlights, radar detectors, clothing, jewelry, and cellphone accessories, Pace said.

“Most all of this has been recovered including the firearm,” he said.

 

Two held in burglary case

A Vicksburg man accused of burglar was held without bail this morning, and his accused accomplice was in juvenile detention.

Markee Thompson, 19, who lives on Hillside Circle, was arrested at his home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday by Vicksburg police investigator Bobby Jones and charged with burglary, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.

A juvenile was also arrested and charged with burglary, she said.

The two are accused of breaking into a home on Hillside Drive on Tuesday and stealing electronics, Williams said.

The electronics have been recovered, she said.

Thompson was held without bail this morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility, and the juvenile was held this morning in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

Guns, jewelry hot in thefts

Guns, tools and jewelry and electronics were missing this morning following five thefts Thursday and today in Vicksburg and Warren County.

At 8:39 a.m., a Browning Buck Mark .22-caliber pistol was reported missing from a truck in the 300 block of Burnthouse Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

At 10:50 a.m., a .380-caliber pistol, a Skillsaw, a DVD player and a flashlight were reported missing from the 100 block of Cumberland Road, according to sheriff’s records.

At 2:44 p.m., a 14-karet gold ring valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from the 400 block of Garden Grove Street, according to sheriff’s records.

At 6:23 p.m., a Peavey public address system valued at $200, pieces of a drum kit valued at $80, two crock pots, and assorted kitchen items including crock pots, silverware and groceries were reported stolen from Mount Givens Baptist Church, 210 Kirkland Road according to sheriff’s records.

At 12:30 a.m. today, assorted jewelry valued at $750, a Dell laptop valued at $300 and an undetermined amount of cash were reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Blue Creek Drive, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.
