LOS ANGELES — LeRoy “Goody” Gaines died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. He was 72.

LeRoy graduated from Rosa A. Temple in 1960 where he was a member of the Rosa A. Temple Marching Band.

He was a member of FAME Church in Los Angeles where he sang in the Men of Fame Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lenora Mims; his grandmother Rosie Galtney Sharkey and two neices.

He is survived by a son, Leroy R. Gaines (Tinya) of Moreno Valley, Cali.; two daughters, Pamela Lee (Arthur) of Los Angeles  and Rhochel Gaines (Christian Thomas) of Moreno Valley, Cali; two brothers, Nathaniel Washington of Vicksburg and Rufus Mims (Jackie) of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Felicia Kelly (Elvin), Delores Mims and Sandra Mims, all of Vicksburg; 19 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
