Mississippi State’s Ross Mitchell was named the SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Mississippi was home to some of the best pitchers in college baseball last week.

Southern Miss’ Conor Fisk was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday, while Mississippi State’s Ross Mitchell earned the same honor from the Southeastern Conference.

Fisk, in his second appearance of the season, struck out a career-best 13 batters in seven innings during a 3-1 victory over Troy on Friday night. The Wisconsin native surrendered just one run on five hits with three walks and struck the side three times in the contest.

East Carolina’s Jeff Hoffman shared the award with Fisk.

Sharing the SEC honors with Missouri righty Brett Graves, Mitchell went 1-0 in two appearances against Michigan State and Eastern Illinois. He held opponents to a .091 batting average in seven innings of relief. On the year, he is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in a team-high 18 innings pitched.
