DECATUR, Ga. — Henry Brown Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at DeKalb Medical Hospital at Hillandale in Lithonia, Ga. He was 67.
A native of Jackson and a  graduate of Lanier High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Tougaloo College in 1969, where he was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Pan Hellenic Council. He received his master’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Georgia State University in 1973. He was retired from the Atlanta Public School System.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esperline and Henry Brown Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary Dunmore Brown, and three children, Runako Brown, Henri Brown and Jamila Brown, all of Decatur; four sisters, Tracie Banks, Alice Brown, and Diane Glass, all of Jackson, and Charolette Brown of Decatur; five grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Donald Trimble Mortuary in Decatur. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
