Accused molester in jail

An man accused of molesting two children was in jail today after deputies found him hiding under a mobile home Wednesday.

Johnnie Ross, 24, whose address was not available, was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 10000 block of U.S. 61 South by Warren County investigator Mike Traxler and several deputies, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

A call to Warren County E-911 indicated Ross was hiding at the residence, said Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams.

“They heard noise under the mobile home and found Ross hiding under the mobile home,” Pace said.

Ross was taken to VPD where he was charged with two counts of sexual battery, Williams said.

Ross is accused of molesting two children younger than 12 on Tuesday in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Williams said.

The two children were taken to River Region Medical Center where they were treated and released, she said.

Ross was held in the Warren County Jail this morning in lieu of $700,000 bail.
