In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:
• Artilious Burnett, 40, of Port Gibson, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and sale of cocaine as a second or subsequent drug offender and was sentenced by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney to 10 years in prison followed by five year’s probation, a $15,000 fine and $769 in costs. Burnett was indicted in October 2011.
• Melvin Clark, 34, of Lorman, was found guilty of violating probation for aggravated assault and sentenced by Chaney to four years in prison. Clark was indicted in July 2012.
• Marquis Eastman, 22, of Utica, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced by Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick to six years in prison followed by five years’ probation, a $1,000 fine, a $3,000 contribution to the victim’s compensation fund and $584.50 in costs. Eastman was arrested in November 2012.
• Tery Kendell Hayes, 24, who live son Second North Street, pleaded guilty to attempted burglary of a dwelling and strong-arm robbery and was sentenced by Chaney to eight years in prison followed by five years probation, a $1,000 fine and $769 in costs. Hayes was indicted in May 2011.
• Luther Payne, 25, who lives on Azalea Drive, was found guilty of violating probation for receiving stolen property and sentenced by Chaney to three years in prison followed by five years’ probation. Payne was indicted in May 2009.
• Ashley Rochelle Ross, 27, who lives on Elizabeth Circle, was found guilty of violating probation for shoplifting and sentenced by Chaney to two years in prison followed by one year of probation. Ross was arrested in February 2013.
• Quintin Delaine Smith, 26, whose address was unavailable, was found guilty of violating probation for receiving stolen property and was sentenced by Chaney to three years in prison. Smith was originally convicted in October 2006.
• Josh D. Thornell, 20, who lives on Fonsylvania Road, pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced by Chaney to Ninth Circuit Drug Court for a period not to exceed five years, a $2,000 fine and $1964.17 in costs. Thornell was arrested in July.
