Man free on bail in child porn case

A Vicksburg man accused of having child pornography on his computer was free on bail this morning.

Jerry Blake, 47, who live son Singing Hills Road, was charged Monday with possession of child pornography, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra WIlliams said.

Blake was arrested after taking his computer to a repair shop to remove a virus, Williams said. The repair technician discovered the child pornography, she said.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” Williams said.

Blake posted $5,000 bail and was released from the Warren County Jail.

 

Crack suspect in jail

A Vicksburg man accused of crack cocaine possession was held without bail this morning.

Calvin Cooks, 22, who lives on Denman’s Alley, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday on Rosedown Street and charged with three counts of possession of cocaine, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.

Cooks was stopped because of two warrants from prior drug investigations, and when police arrested him, he had crack in his possession, Williams said.

Cooks was held this morning without bail in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance.

 

Two held for drug court

Two Warren County residents were held without bail this morning for drug court.

Richard Albert, 21, who lives on Newitt Vick drive, and Megan Stauts, 20, who lives on Hathaway Lane, were held for drug court violations, according to Warren County Jail records.
