G. T. Clay Sr. died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.
He was a member and financial secretary for the Esquire Club of Vicksburg, and had been retired from International Paper Co since 1992.
He was preceded in death by his father, Algie D. Clay; mother Ola B. Montgomery-Sims; and a daughter, Ester Leavern Clay.
Survivors include his wife, Wilbur Tyler Clay of Vicksburg; a daughter, LaJune West Scott of Vicksburg; three sons, G. T. Clay Jr. of Chicago; Algie Leon Clay of Richmond, Va., and Jonathan W. Clay Sr. of Vicksburg; 21 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Vicksburg Family Life Cathedral with  Pastor Betty M. Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of  W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
