Tennis Gators roll past Forest Hill, 7-0

The Vicksburg Gators seem to be finding a winning formula.

The Gators didn’t lose a set, and only dropped 17 games in seven matches, in shutting out Forest Hill 7-0 in a head-to-head match Monday afternoon in Jackson. It was their third win in four team matches this season.

Jared Bell and Jayla Martin both won 6-1, 6-4 in boys and girls singles, respectively.

Mason Boyd and Walter Boyd won 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 boys doubles, and Will Robinson and Chris Albert won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 boys doubles.

In girls doubles, the top team of Adda White and Olivia White won 6-0, 6-1, while Amy Dickson and Bethany James were 6-1, 6-1 winners in the second slot.

Vicksburg’s mixed doubles team of Charlene Figueroa and Chris Green won 6-1, 6-1.

The Gators will play at Jim Hill today at 3:30, then host Greenville-Weston on Friday.
