Ronald “Ronnie” Robinson died March 16, 2014. He was 57.

Mr. Robinson was born to the late Oscar Roberson Sr. and Evelyn Haley Roberson on Feb. 8, 1957, in Vicksburg. He was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Vicksburg High School and later received a scholarship to Lane University in Tennessee.

He was an Automotive Service Excellence-certified mechanic and worked at Gillman Automotive Group as lead mechanic.  He later joined the staff at the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County in Houston, Texas, where he was a body shop repairman. He retired from METRO after 23 years of service.

He was a member of McGee Chapel Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and enjoyed family, photography, woodcraft, working on automobiles, traveling, and building things.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Roberson Jr., and David Robinson, and one sister, Florine Beacham.

Survivors include eight siblings, Dorothy Lambert, James Roberson, Lena Roberson, Beatrice Carr, Connie Fleming, Linda Brown, Barbara Wesley and Michael Roberson; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Mark Free Will Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
