PORT GIBSON — Dwight Donnell Derby of Port Gibson died March 25, 2014, at Jefferson County Hospital. He was 40.

Mr. Derby was born May 23, 1973 in Vicksburg. He was an employee of the City of Batesville and a member of Mercy Seat M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard “RL” Derby; mother, Beulah Wilson Derby; and a sister, Debra Derby Gusta.

Survivors include four brothers, Ricky Derby of Desota, Texas, Ricky Johnson of Baton Rouge, La., Warren Young of Pattison, and Alonzo Banks of Dallas; four sisters, Brenda Dorsey and LeKenya Derby, both of Port Gibson, Sharon Young of Pattison, and Angela Lewis of New Jersey; four uncles; an aunt; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will follow at Mercy Seat Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
