Ernest E. “Wyn” Howard  was called to heaven on March 26, 2014, his 71st birthday.

His smile will be missed by many, specifically his loving children, Meredith Howard McEneny (Tim), M. Brock Howard, Ellen Elizabeth Howard; the mother of his children, Brenda Brock Howard; his grandchildren, Leila and Sloane; his sisters JoyAnn Hennessey (John) and Diane Livingston (Bill); his stepsister Patricia Swenson; his dear companion, Jane Powell Henson and many close friends.

Wyn was born in Vicksburg and received his BBA degree and JD degree from the University of Mississippi, where he continued to be an active alumni. He worked for several years in Dallas, then moved his family to New Orleans. Wyn served through the 1970s and 1980s in a variety of executive capacities with McMoRan and its successor company, Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Since retiring, he served on many boards, enjoyed following the stock market, cheered for Ole Miss at season football games, played on several renowned golf courses and spent time at his home on the Florida beach.

Though he had many accomplishments in his career, his greatest success in life was his three children. Wyn will be remembered for his jolly spirit, his wise business sense and his unconditional love for others.

Per his wishes, services will be held in Vicksburg at Cedar Hill Cemetery 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014. A reception will follow at Roca Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Methodist Home for Children in New Orleans (www.LMCH.org) or the University of Mississippi Foundation (umfoundation.com/makeagift).  If you are unable to attend the service, his children would love a brief note about your friendship with their dad, email: DearWynHoward@gmail.com
