Eva Mae Vines

Eva Mae Vines, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. She was 86.

Mrs. Vines was born in Woodville and lived in Vicksburg for many years. She lived in Eagle Lake for the past 30 years, and worked in retail sales at Sears. She was a member of Eagle Lake Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert Walker and Hulda Owens Walker; her husband, William Vines; her sister, Ernestine Hunter; and brother, W.B. Walker Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Diane Carter of Vicksburg; sons, William J. Vines Jr. and Gary Vines, both of Vicksburg; sisters, Leona Bullard of Thomasville, Ga., Kathleen Pitman of Walker, La., Nita Geter and Pearl Carter, both of Vicksburg; brothers, Edward Walker of Woodville, and Clarence “Bill” Walker of Bowerton, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be on today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Chris Carter, Grant Carter, Kurt Vines, Jaden Sanders, Jamie Vines and Ty Edelston.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Eagle Lake Baptist Church and Ladies of Lake “Red Hat.”
