George Edward Lynn died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.

Mr. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and retired from W.G. Yates Construction Co. as a supervisor. He worked for LeTourneau from 1962 until their first closure in 1992. When it closed, he was the last one out the gate. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Lynn; his father, Freddie Lynn and mother Mary Lynn; his brothers and sister, Billy Lynn, Marie Rose, Richard Lynn Jr., and Raymond Lynn.

Survivors include his daughter, Georgia Lynn of Vicksburg, Kelly Lynn Miles and son-in-law Greg of Montgomery, Ala., Terri Lynn Booth and son-in-law Johnny of Vicksburg; sisters, Frances Holiday of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Patricia Lynn Barnes of Vicksburg; brothers, Johnny Lynn of Vicksburg, Jerry Lynn of Bossier City, La., and James Lynn of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren, Zachary Booth, Piper Booth, Sailor Miles, Presley Miles and Landry Miles.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Ables officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Lynn, Joe Lynn, Billy Lynn, Chris Michael Lynn, Greg Miles and Johnny Booth.  Memorials may be made to the Vicksburg Warren Humane Society, 6600 Hwy 61 South, Vicksburg, MS  39180.
